Furry friends post

Check out these furries I've been seeing around the neighborhood.

someone's watching wistfully....

not a furry friend, but a fast friend!
can you spot both cats in this (blurry) pic?

And we're almost done with the first week of spring classes! Can you believe it? I have a feeling this term is going to be long daily but super fast weekly, if that makes sense! And tomorrow's MAY! What?!

What number first day of school is this?

Another first day of a new semester down! I tell ya, a whole new world opens up when you start waking up at 7 am. Let's hope I can keep the momentum going! I think the whole trick will be to keep the same wake up call time on the weekend, even if it means I have to take a nap that day because of staying out late that night (does that make sense?). Otherwise, I'll sleep in and throw everything off!

Today was grammar and work, tomorrow is physics and work. I showed Claire the back way to walk up to campus that is a true time-saver. Hey, you learn a few things when you live here...

Good news and gratitude

A few weeks ago I received a notification from BYU that my GPA was unfortunately not high enough to automatically qualify for a scholarship. I was pretty bummed, but prepared myself to work extra hard this spring and summer to save money for Fall and Winter tuition of this upcoming year.

Today, I received another notification-

This turns out to be a tad more than half tuition! I'm so so grateful (and don't worry Mom and Dad, I am still planning on budgeting and working to save a lot of money from spring and summer). What a blessing!

Spring term starts tomorrow, so I need to go to bed since I now wake up EVERY DAY at 7 am (stop laughing you early birds out there). My final schedule is Physics 105 MWF from 9-11 and English Grammar from 8:15-10:45 TTh, with work in the afternoons (either 12-4 or 1-4 totaling 17 hours/week, so part time). Danielle has work at Geneva Rock every day from 8-5 and Kelsey is taking classes as well, so it's nice that we're all getting up at the same time. Here's to new beginnings!

A Wedding!

Today was Trish's wedding to Jeff at the Oquirrh Mountain temple. It was a little windy and ended up raining by the evening reception, but it was so fun to be with her and her family. However, it was quite the all day event! Prepare for picture overload.

Family brunch

the happy couple!
claire and I were honored to be invited
After the brunch, Claire and I ran to finalize our gift (writing notes, getting a little treat) and then headed over to the temple. I ended up chilling in the waiting area and judging all the screaming children who were left with 14 year olds because no parents stayed behind #truestory

After the sealing, we ate a snack with the Watkins family and then traveled back to their home to hang out until the reception at the church down the street from their house (which was only about an hour later).

Thursday Madness and still no photos

No clue why photos won't sync. I think it's Blogger, or maybe just the new Photos Application. Boo. Today was an all-work day, but I was able to get my nails for the wedding on Saturday done albeit with some drama....I will be going back in tomorrow to get them repainted. Not happy.

Now I'm off to bed early so I can make it to the temple tomorrow!

Wednesday Happenings

Happy Earth Day, everyone! I took Google's quiz to see what kind of animal I am and....I was a bee! (NONE of my photos will load which makes for not a happy Kjerstie. Hopefully they will tomorrow and I can add them so this post will actually make sense) It was a slow, long day at work so Ali of course had to take the quiz to and got a Komodo dragon, haha.

Besides working today, it was a bunch of errands, REUNION with Claire!, açai bowl for dinner, and a good workout at the gym. AND I parallel parked like a BOSS! Too bad I have no photos to show. Dad, you would be proud!

Tomorrow brings another full day of work...but on my own since Ali will be graduating. Let's hope I can hold down the fort and not be bored out of my skull!

Finals are FINISHED

Now the rest of the week is just working, prep for Trish's wedding on Saturday, and then Spring term starts Tuesday. Whew!!! I'm hoping by Monday I can get a little R&R before a new term and classes start.

putting the fun in funeral

This weekend was my Papa O's funeral, and it honestly was a lot of fun to see so many family and friends. I drove out with Lindsay and her grandma yesterday to Boise, and we just returned. The service today was wonderful, and the military service at his grave was pretty neat. It was a great way to honor Papa O and have some good quality family time.

I'm grateful for the gospel and the knowledge that this life isn't the end! My family can be together forever.

Snow?

Yep that's right, today we had a definite Spring storm here in Utah! In other news, I've been sticking to my schedule and getting everything done that I need to. WHEW! It's keeping me busy and I'm grateful that I've been able to make it through. Only a couple more days and then I'll be done with the semester! Yikes.

Here are some pictures from today-walking to work, check out how close I got to a quail! I love quail (both to eat and observe in the wild).

hi there bud!

And then the view from work...irony is, we had better weather over December finals week last semester than April finals week this semester. Boo.

snow?!

Here we go

It's time. The end is near! Can you believe it? I have two major projects due Monday, one due Tuesday, and then I should be able to take most of my finals and be done by next Monday April 20! Ahh!

Enjoy the following selfies from work and working out, and Trish's invites!!! Less than two weeks until she's married!
