Friday's Fancy Dinner

Claire took Sarah and I out to dinner tonight in thanks for helping her take care of her brother's dog while he was out of town! Callie (the dog) had several accidents....but we got through it, for better or worse haha. I also got a haircut! Can you tell a difference? It's okay if you can't haha. I'm not one for drastic haircuts...

post haircut!

yay! At Communal! I have a weird side eye but that's okay!

skirt steak with chimichurri and pickled veggies, garlic and chive mashed potatoes, and
my personal favorite-cornbread with jalapeƱo honey butter

Then we went to the Riverwoods and walked around, and then to a game night of Sarah's mission friend but it turns out I knew a ton of people there from classes and roommates of my friend Katrina! It is a small small world, especially being Mormon/at BYU! Lots of fun.

Healthy Living

Well! I have lost 10 pounds this month as I have been trying to eat healthier and work out more! I wish I had taken measurements though, because I know I have gotten more muscle (which weighs more than fat).  Not going to lie, it's not easy, but I can do things like headstands in yoga class and even get some of the move and hip shakings in Zumba! Which is exactly what I want-to be healthy and strong.

Long Weekend Update

Sorry I've been a bit MIA! This long weekend was great.

Friday- Dinner with the Werners and Dobsons at Tucano's!! Yum yum. Then it was off to Hailey's (friend from the ward) for a game and movie night (Telestrations and Ocean's 11 in particular).

Saturday- Spent the day with the Werners and Dobsons again. Loved having the D's in town!

Sunday- Church, dinner with Claire at the Werners, Ward Prayer, and a game night with Claire's companion and friends from Brazil. I have to laugh at our game nights, because it's so fun and a great way to get to know people but it sounds kind of childish sometimes! Compared to all my other college friends who probably can't remember what they did over the weekend sometimes....

Monday (today)- Gym in the morning with Ali, Danielle did my hair beautifully, walk to the Grotto (a little waterfall in Payson) that was super muddy, ward BBQ, FHE, and watched the Bachelorette with friends! Now I'm off to bed since I'm trying to make it to the early morning workouts (at 6 am! Eek!).

walked past this...the widstoe is coming down!

here it goes!

some good censoring by jbob :)

mom, dad and renny were in socal for a field hockey tournament-
they definitely dress the part

awesome curly hair that pretty much stayed!

so close~but so far

Oh you know, I just have to take a dreaded PHYSICS TEST and then I'm free for the weekend. Ahhhhh. And I fell asleep for about 45 minutes this afternoon and lost out on some study time.
:( Starting my days at 5:40 and going going going will do that! But hey, a lot of people do a lot more. So yes, I'm writing my blog post as a break, and then it's back to conservation of kinetic energy and other equally exciting topics.

In other news today, I made it to class, work, and institute, which had a great lesson on Elder Bednar's "Therefore They Hushed Their Fears" from last General Conference. Read it here! It was wonderful and something that I needed.

I'm excited to be done with everything tomorrow though, because the Dobsons are in town for the weekend! Saturday is reunion day! And with the three-day weekend I'm hoping to relax and have a little fun on Monday too.

exciting happenings

1-I received a grant for next year in addition to my scholarship!! So grateful.

2-I made it to 2 workouts today! Early morning yoga and cycling tonight.

3-We held our first spring activity for the Spanish honor society (Sigma Delta Pi) and one person came! Haha one is better than none. (It turns out they aren't even a part of the group, it was a friend from the other co-president's mission. Wooo for involved members)

4-We are officially halfway through the week. I CAN GET THROUGH IT AND ENJOY MY 3-DAY WEEKEND I THINK I CAN I THINK I CAN

5-I have gotten up at 5:40 am every day this week so far and will probably continue to do so for the rest of the week.

Monday and this week's happenings

I added photos to yesterday's post! Go back and check!

Today I had early morning yoga (loooots of pushups. woo.), physics class, home for lunch and a quick nap that was desperately needed, work, Zumba/Pilates, and FHE! With rootbeer floats after. Yum.

The weather has been crazy crazy-I don't think I've ever heard thunder as loud today ever in my life!

insane storm clouds.
I have a physics test on Friday, so between the usual school/work/aerobics grind I'm studying for that. But then it's a 3-day weekend and some fun can be had!

Every day I'm....exhausted

I wasn't as sore as I expected on Tuesday! Guess that just means that I'm getting stronger!! Every day this week has been busy busy busy, but I'll admit that I like it that way! As a kind of OCD planner, I like to see what my day will be like (sometimes down to the hour). Here are some highlights of the week!

Tuesday: Prep for Grammar midterm, Ali and I tried cycling/spinning (a fancy name for riding on a fancy stationary bike) for the first time! A good cardio workout but I'll admit that my bum hurt when I woke up the next morning :)

Wednesday: Early morning yoga (where I DID A HEADSTAND with a little help!), school, work, and a ward bonfire! So much fun. Hot dogs, s'mores, and games! I played volleyball for the first time in a long time.

Thursday (today): Sore wrists from volleyball last night! Grammar midterm in class, which I think went well, Payson Temple Open House with the ward, tacos after, back in time to get to work, finished a big project there, a nap (which in hindsight was not the best idea because who knows if I'll be able to fall asleep when I want to tonight...), Institute, and Zumba!

it is beautiful!

the gang!
It should be a good weekend too! Camping plans are now kind of up in the air with a lot of rain/wind today and expected through tomorrow and part of Saturday, but I'm sure it will be something fun no matter what we do!

I don't think I'll be able to move tomorrow

I made it to TWO workouts today- 6 am yoga and Zumba this evening! Woo!

Today I also had physics, work, finished physics homework at work, service project at FHE, and now it's 10 pm and I'm exhausted! I'll let you know how tomorrow morning goes :)

weekend update!

Friday-Ward dodgeball.

Saturday- RS service, errands, chores, quiet movie night in (it was very rainy and dreary all day long).

Sunday- Church, finished more RS service (making fleece blankets), dinner at the Watkins, laundry.

It's an early night because I'm attempting to go to early morning yoga tomorrow. Woo for a 6 am workout!

What a happening Thursday!

Well! Today was quite the day. Grammar class in the morning, a free blowout (hair washed/dried, head and shoulder massage), work, studying for physics, the food truck roundup and Institute, and Zumba! Woohoo! Most importantly, there are photos of it all!

the week's schedule and the salon I went to!

my first time at the food truck roundup!

I got some korean bbq! and MAN! it was delicious!
super easy to recreate at home, I bet-you just need the special sauce.

friends from the ward! we decided to split the donuts, and it was a good choice!

we went for the cookies and cream flavor. split with four people=just right. I'm
still trying to stay healthy, but not starve myself!

And if you're hoping for pictures of Zumba...haha, sorry, that's never going to happen! I know I look like a fool at class but hey, it's fun to try and dance and shake my hips! And you work up quite the sweat. Good cardio fun!

A rainy day in May

Yesterday, today, and the rest of the week have been thunderstorm-y! Today we even had several strong downpours scattered throughout the day.

And what a day it has been! I woke up at 6 am, made it to the temple, went to class (physics)....then work, where I did physics homework, which was hard today! And I have my first test of it on Friday. Crunch time. Today was also the first class of BYU Aerobics that Ali and I went to, Zumba Pump, and whew! We worked up quite the sweat. I'm going to be a strong and super fit girl if I keep it up!

Now it's just winding down and getting ready for bed. I forgot to take any pictures today, I'll have to find something to document for tomorrow!

weekend update

An update complete with pictures at long last!

Friday night was movie night, I went with some old friends and new friends to see The Avengers: Age of Ulton and it was pretty good! Some witty dialogue, action scenes, good vs evil...all that.

Saturday was the exciting day though, complete with a morning hike to Stewart Falls! Yes, this is the same hike I went on several months ago via snowshoe. It was fun to go just normally too.

Jean-Marie, myself, and Catherine

"what a stunning vista!"

the hills are alive...

some other families

I've been working really hard to be healthier, from getting up early to my eating habits to exercising regularly. And check it out! A yummy snack and cute ducklings from my walk to the gym.

chocolate chia seed pudding.

can you spot a duckling or two?
Saturday night was a bonfire with Sarah's friends from her mission to Colorado (Denver South), and it turns out I knew several of them from a combination of roommates/boyfriends/common friends/freshman year. How crazy is that?! Small Mormon world I tell you!

And it was someone's birthday too! So a bonfire and
a bit of a birthday party

Today we've had Fast Sunday (I played piano)/church, ward break-the-fast, with Cafe Rio style burritos which were DELICIOUS, a nice walk around the BYU gardens, and a game night. Now I'm off to bed so I can keep up my early to rise pattern!

the full family! i love spring!

ticket to ride EUROPE! so fun.
