Well. I had planned to take lots of pictures and have an exciting blog post everyday this week, but it didn't happen. Oops! Even though I'm only taking three classes instead of five like the last two semesters, it's definitely a different feel because each class is twice as long. So time goes by pretty quickly every day! Here's an update on my classes:
Foods: Is super fun! I think the readings from our textbook are pointless, it was obviously written by some aspiring English major. Think "siren calls of carbohydrates" and other such descriptions of food. Our labs are pretty neat, though! There's a special foods lab with about seven mini kitchens where we cook a meal every Tuesday and Thursday. Our time slot is from 3-6, so it's basically a free dinner!
Writings of Isaiah: We have a substitute professor since the one scheduled to teach is really sick. This guy seems pretty great though! He's this short Jewish man from Idaho, is missing half of his left index finger, and seems to know his stuff. I'm excited because we'll cover a lot of the linguistic and translation aspects of Isaiah, and since I like languages I think it'll be great!
Anatomy: Is going to be a lot of work. I'm already learning so much in lab and lecture and still have so much to learn!!! For instance-our lab on Wednesday was all about the axial skeleton, and I have to memorize all 107 terms of every bone and indent of your skeleton for a quiz on Monday! How crazy is that?! And I've found out some cool facts, like why your nose runs when you cry and what causes goosebumps. Next week we should start learning off of cadavers. I'll let you know how it goes!!
I don't have classes on Friday, so tomorrow I just have an open lab for anatomy and lots of time to study! It's just me because T and C flew back home to California for the weekend to receive their endowment. SO EXCITING! I feel so old and so young at the same time. It's pretty weird. Love you all and hope your weeks aren't as crazy as mine! I'll try to remember and take some pictures so it won't be another boring monologue next time. Good night!
