Busy in a good way

This week seems to have flown by! Probably because I made sure to pack it full of all sorts of jobs. I have been babysitting, helping people move, and then repeated that all week. Whew!

my car full of stuff to move.
wait...wasn't I just doing this a week ago?
I also got trained to work the desk at the exercise studio where I worked last summer. That's super exciting because I can trade working at the desk for free classes! So my goals this summer are to try and earn enough money to buy a car to take back to Provo and get fit. We'll see how it goes! It's been tough because I LOVE ice cream, and since it's been pretty hot lately, I've give in to temptation more than I should :)

So that's my update! Tomorrow I have a dr's appointment and then babysit from about 10 am to 12 am. Here we go!

Officially summer!

Well! It's been a while since I've posted, due to pressing issues like finals, moving out, and moving in back home to California. But now that all that's over, I can get back to blogging! I figure that this summer won't be super exciting to read about, because I'm trying to work as much as I can to save up for a car to take back to Provo. But if you'd still like a little glimpse into what's happening, stay tuned!

For now, here's a photo recap of my last week in Provo.

I finally declared Spanish as a second major!
It took a while to get all the paperwork sorted out, but it's official now!
On Friday the 21st I took A (who was in town for a BYU music camp) to Salt Lake to see one of her favorite bands, The Front Bottoms, perform. We dragged along my roommates as well and had some crazy adventures(what else would you expect?).

Exhibit A: The concert was in an iffy part of town, so when C and I needed to use the restroom, we decided that crashing the Grand American would be safest. And crash it we did!

at the concert!

there they are!
After that, we packed and cleaned on Saturday to be able to catch flights and officially move out. But not before we had our final Martinelli's toast:

And then Sunday brought a very long drive home. To distract ourselves, A would use her toy muppet to wave at others who were stuck in traffic with us. It sounds pretty weird but it's super funny to see everyone's reactions.

And today was a lot of unpacking and arranging babysitting jobs! We did take a break and check out this new store in downtown Palo Alto called Cream-where they sell ice cream sandwiches! Very fun and cute.

Tomorrow brings the first of many babysitting jobs. It'll be a long and busy day (that will hopefully pay off well :)). And that's my catch up!

Weekend Recap

Here it goes!

Friday- We went to the Lindon Community Pool (which is pretty new and basically a waterpark), had dinner with the S's who were in town for a college tour, and then hit the Provo Rooftop Concert Series. And topped the night off with a rerun of RED-aka Retired and Extremely Dangerous.

free indie music!
Saturday- slept in, got some work done, and when our plans for the evening fell through, went to Nickel City and had the best night ever. I also made some of Mom's Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins, which were a hit!

goooo!
For our prize we got a piece of candy each, some sweet mustaches, and a backscratcher. The best bang for your buck in the history of time.

Sunday-another great church meeting and delicious dinner at the W's! We even got a few rounds of The Great Dalmuti in. (yes, it's a weird-sounding card game-but so much fun! it's kind of like scum if you know what that game is)

the reigning Great Dalmuti herself.
the hat gives her power.
and lets everyone know SHE IS the great dalmuti.

So a good weekend! I can't believe that in two weeks from RIGHT NOW I will be at home. Home. For the summer. It really hit me today! I still have so much to do, and so little time...

And finally....for your entertainment. All I can say is, if I were a man I would always have a mustache. They're pretty great.

Last Day of Foods!

Man! I can't believe I'm done with one of my classes! We had our Lab final, or our "Magnificent Meal" today. We picked our own recipes, did a cost analysis to remain within a set budget, and then cooked the food and had a delicious dinner! Our group made a chicken berry salad with garlic bread, and then chocolate lava cake with ice cream and whipped cream for dessert. Yum!

We're pretty fancy, huh? :)

I'm currently typing this from the W's, where I'm staying overnight because the parents are off partying...haha just kidding. (girls camp and business trips are not very party-esque). Tomorrow I'll be back in P-town for the usual weekend shenanigans! We'll see what adventures we can come up with this time.

two weeks from today

It will be FINALS two weeks from today! Can you believe it?! Neither can I. This semester has been a blast. I've loved my classes, my roommates, my little apartment...it's so great! But that doesn't mean that I won't love coming back home to the Bay for a few months. I definitely want a summer vacation!

In other news today- I took my lecture midterm and got a 91!

proof. you go 3-3214.
So in one week I'll have my lab final, and in two weeks, another lecture final! Crazy crazy. I'm off to bed to get some rest. Have a good night!

nothing much to say

Nothing much is new, so not a lot of blog posts! It's just been classes, homework, and the gym. Tomorrow brings another Anatomy lab quiz and then my second lecture midterm! Today was our second-to-last Foods lab, and we made homemade candy. Thursday is our LAST Foods lab EVER, where we'll make our magnificent meal. And that's that!

Weekend Update

Life is so crazy busy lately! Sorry for the lack of consistent updates. Here goes the weekend recap:

Thursday-we had a pie party! In Foods we all made an apple pie, and since there are four of us, that's a lot of pie. So we invited a bunch of friends over and had a party where we ate pie!

my pie!
Friday-we went up to Park City for a friend's party that night. We went up during the afternoon and went to visit the Alpine Slides and Coaster, which were way fun! Pretty expensive for two rides down the mountain, but I would definitely recommend it.

can you spot the ski runs?

crazy kids with devil eyes...
Saturday: Got up waay too early to hit an open lab and the gym. Then it was up for another yummy lunch of homemade pizza, and we caught the matinee of "Now You See Me". It was actually a lot better than I expected! Cute actors, a cool twist, and the special effects weren't too cheesy. I would definitely recommend it. (Just look out for some teenage boy language). Saturday night brought homework/studying for my Anatomy Lecture midterm, and that was that!

Sunday: Church was good and uplifting, as usual! Break the fast at J&J's was delicious, and we even brought some pie that we still had as a thank-you. C was introduced to playing Settlers of Cataan for the first time!

now she's a true mormon.
And tonight it's just been some skyping, Planet Earth watching, and getting ready for another big week! We'll see how it goes!
