less than two weeks

News flash: since I'm heading home on the 18th, I have less than two weeks in this freezer that is called Provo! Woohoo! Today was busy busy busy as usual, but I did get a lot done which was good. Unfortunately I'm not feeling that much better; don't worry Mom I'll keep loading up on the vitamins and eating D's oranges (and she said I could so no hard feelings).

like I said. It's really cold.
especially walking to class in the am.

Today in D&C we got to pass around Joseph Smith's death mask! It's a cast of his actual cast, or at least that was my understanding. Interesting but a little morbid at the same time.

just holding the prophet's face in my hands. nbd.

And tonight I had the pleasure of attending this awesome event which I can't spell without the flyer that is in the other room...long story short it was basically a tribute/homage to this Peruvian poet named César Vallejo. And not only did they have like a formal part with speeches, a performance of the Peruvian national anthem, etc...but they also had this SWEET cultural celebration with (I kid you not) interpretive dancing and black veils, a Mexican Josh Groban, a girl who could rock that malagueña on the piano, and this hilarious duo of "los hermanos Alor" who sang a "potpourri of peruvian songs". WITH A CAJON <- A. will get this (it's basically a wood block you sit on and pound on it; a type of rhythm instrument). Pretty cool. And it was for extra credit too! I just wish I could've found a discreet way to photograph the interpretive dance...

...but the mexican josh groban will have to do.

Tomorrow hopefully D and I will hit up the Beehive Bazaar in search of some Christmas presents/just cool homemade stuff. Until then...let's hope I can get some rest.
