Slowly surviving the winter!

Today was the first day of winter semester classes! I woke up to this lovely reminder that I'm living in Utah in the middle of winter:

zero. zilch. nada. nothing.
Yep, it was literally zero degrees as I walked to class today. I made it on time, even a little early to  my 8 o'clock class, despite waking up a million times that night/early morning because I was afraid I would fall back asleep! I think I'm starting to get on a good schedule that will allow me to go to bed early and get up early, though. Let's hope it continues!

Like I said, it was really cold...

Second first-day-of-school shot!

hat, scarf, gloves, coat, check!

And you'll notice that my hall looks pretty empty...there wasn't a whole lot of action in my hall, but I was surprised at how many people were up on campus for 8 o'clock classes! I don't know why you'ld want to torture yourself like that...

My day went well today, and I can hopefully have a great rest of my freshman year! Some interesting things that happened today included being one of four girls in a class of 25 (yes, the rest were guys and yes, it was return missionary Spanish!), discovering that my calculus professor has an English/Scottish accent (and can rock the red sweater/plaid/hipster tortoiseshell glasses look), coming home to finish work, and watching the premiere of Downton Abbey, Season 3! Finally! It was my reward for making it through the day :) On another note, thanks to everyone who wrote or called me this weekend-it was really hard to get readjusted and ready for back-to-school in 1.5 days. But I made it! Thanks a bunch. Let's hope the rest of the week is just as successful!
