Well. Today was off to a flaming start, literally, at 3 am this morning. My roommate and I awoke to an incessant alarm. Because we both were asleep, we were kind of groggy, but then we opened our door to realize that it was the fire alarm going off and we needed to evacuate. So all the girls from David John had a nice bonding experience in the freezing outdoors while we took roll, and then when we moved to Hinckley Hall, and then finally to the Cannon Center. I swear, there were probably three firetrucks, two ambulances, and the police...and in the end, there wasn't a fire. Someone on the first floor (but not my wing!) had pulled the fire alarm...so at 4:30 we all made it back to bed. Super fun.

Can you see the firetrucks? |

Moved to the Cannon Center and just chilling... |
S., my roommate, had it worse than I did, because her parents were coming to pick her up at 7, so she had to wake up at 6-6:30; aka like 2 hours later. I went to J&J's (they kindly picked me up), and was up and driven there by 10.

S. and I super excited to get up again in two hours.. |
And MAN! General Conference was amazing. I really tried to listen to all the talks during both sessions and take notes just because I figured that hey, as an adult on my own now I probably need all the extra guidance and spiritual uplift that I can. And it was great. I loved seeing the main themes of families and turning to Christ in tough times. Great talks and inspiration. And of course...the life-changing announcement about the age change for missionaries! That means that I technically could serve next year...right now, I don't think that's the path for me, but who knows! A lot can change in a year.

Didn't you love sister dibb's talk?! |
Because I can never NOT do nothing at J&J's, today we made applesauce! Delicious. And fun to visit with Pa and Louise again (and I'll see them tomorrow too!).

After visiting and even catching some
Halloween Wars on the Food Network and
Men in Black, it was time to head back. In Provo, I grabbed a cupcake that I've been dying to try...

It's called "the grasshopper" from the Cocoa Bean. I've been missing my Icing on the Cake, especially my mint chocolate chip cupcake. This certainly wasn't the same, but I think it will be an acceptable replacement for the time being.
Can't wait for more Conference tomorrow and just chilling on the couch and taking notes. Plus it's another Skype Sunday! So I'll talk to you regulars tomorrow :) Hope your Conference weekend has been great as well!
Loving your blog kj!! You have got to try the cupcakes at the sweet tooth fairy!!! Best cupcakes EVER! XOXO
