idaho adventure:part 1

This afternoon I headed up to good old Boise, Idaho with K. to visit my grandparents and go to the Train, Mat Kearney, and Andy Grammer concert. Kind of like a late birthday present :) It's obviously late, since I'm writing this after I have driven to another state and attended said concert, but I thought I'd post some teaser pictures to keep you all satisfied...
Headed out! Adios Helaman Halls!
The drive wasn't bad at all-it may be because both K. and I have a bit of a lead foot-we left at 12:30 and arrived at 5:45, which meant plenty of time to eat a bite and rest before heading out at 7 to catch our 7:30 concert!
Andy!!!! (Blurry, but that's one of the best I have...)
First up: the man himself. Andy Grammer, up close and intimate, because on the way to Idaho his Winnebago broke down so he had to leave the rest of his band behind. Oops. It was a neat experience with just him and his acoustic guitar, though. Please-I love the guy and his music, so he can do no wrong.
Mat! Mat Kearney, that is.
Then we had Mat Kearney. He was probably the artist that I (thought) I knew the least about, but when he actually ran through his set, I actually recognized most of his songs! Awesome. Plus the added bonus of an adorable guitarist in stripes. Yum.
Train!! With electric ukes, clear lucite drumsets, and more.
Aaaand last but not least, the headliners themselves:Train! Their lights and graphic were amazing. Just a super fun show-lots of audience interaction, throwing out t-shirts, even gifting one lucky kid with a signed guitar...

So that's my very brief recap of the Idaho adventure. Since there is still day 2 to come, you'll have to wait for more pictures and details about the drive and the show-honestly, one of the best ones I've been to because the music quality was superb for being live. No offense, Katy Perry, but your bubble-gum pop isn't the best suited for the stage; it's definitely made for bands like the ones tonight :) Shout out to the grandparents for hosting us and gifting the tickets-it makes for one heck of a interstate-weekend adventure!
